Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor

Gastrointestinal Stromal TumorThe gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) is a soft tissue sarcoma originating from Cajal interstitial cells, which are related to intestinal movement during food digestion. Gastrointestinal stromal tumors can occur in the entire digestive tract, the most common sites are the stomach and small intestine, and can also occur outside the gastrointestinal tract, omentum and mesenteric. Gastrointestinal stromal tumors are biologically benign and malignant. Most small GIST (diameter <2cm) or microscopic GIST (diameter <1cm) are considered to be benign tumors. The etiology of gastrointestinal stromal tumors is believed to be related to gene mutations, and most cases have c-Kit or PDGFRA gene mutations.

Diagnosis of Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor

  • Laboratory examination. Including routine blood tests, liver and kidney function tests, electrolyte tests, urine tests and stool tests.
  • Imaging Diagnosis. Including upper gastrointestinal radiography, abdominal ultrasound, CT, MRI and PET-CT, etc.
  • Ultrasound endoscopy. While locating the tumor, it can perform a needle biopsy or surgical treatment on the deep tumor, which is an accurate diagnosis method in the clinical application at present.
  • Genetic Testing. It is very important to detect gene mutations in tumor tissues, which is helpful for the diagnosis of some difficult cases, guides clinical treatment and predicts the drug treatment effect of molecular targeted therapy. In principle, all gastrointestinal stromal tumors need testing when they are allowed, which helps to assess the biological behavior of gastrointestinal stromal tumors as a whole. In difficult cases, patients who are going to use molecular targeted therapy and patients who develop drug resistance during molecular targeted therapy should undergo c-Kit or PDGFRA gene mutation analysis to confirm the diagnosis.

Advantages of Our Products

Creative Biogene's gastrointestinal stromal tumor products mainly combine the real-time polymerase chain reaction detection methods, and use allele-specific primers to identify whether there are somatic mutations in the c-Kit and PDGFRA genes. Our products are simple and convenient to operate, and the results have good performance in terms of accuracy and reproducibility.

Creative Biogene focuses on the field of diagnostic reagents for gastrointestinal stromal tumor. We are committed to providing the best products to accelerate the realization of customers' research goals. We look forward to working with you for your cooperation.
