Ulcerative Colitis

Ulcerative ColitisUlcerative colitis is a chronic non-specific intestinal inflammatory disease, which mainly affects the rectum and colon, with a long course and often recurs. The manifestation is abdominal pain, intermittent diarrhea, mucus pus and blood stool. This disease is difficult to cure, has a high recurrence rate and pain rate, which is closely related to the incidence of colon cancer. The etiology of ulcerative colitis is still unknown. It is currently believed to be caused by the interaction of multiple factors, including environmental, genetic, intestinal microecology and immune factors. Among them, the inflammatory process caused by the imbalance of the intestinal mucosal immune system plays an important role in the pathogenesis of ulcerative colitis.

Diagnosis of Ulcerative Colitis

Ulcerative colitis lacks the gold standard for diagnosis. The disease is mainly combined with clinical manifestations, laboratory examinations, imaging examinations, endoscopy and histopathological manifestations, and the diagnosis is made on the basis of excluding infectious and other non-infectious colitis. Among them, laboratory examinations have the following methods:

  • Blood test. Decreased hemoglobin, increased white blood cell count, erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C-reactive protein are signs of active ulcerative colitis.
  • Stool test. Macroscopic observation often has mucus pus and blood, and red blood cells and purulent cells can be found by microscopic examination. The purpose of the fecal pathogenic examination is to rule out infectious colitis, which is an important step in the diagnosis of this disease. It needs to be repeated many times, at least three times.
  • Colonoscopy. Colonoscopy and biopsy are the keys to diagnosis.
  • Other tests. Including x-ray barium enema, imaging examination, autoantibody examination, etc.

Advantages of Our Products

Creative Biogene's ulcerative colitis diagnostic products are mainly test kits. These kits adopt enzyme-linked immunoassay or indirect immunofluorescence test methods to semi-quantitatively detect related antibodies in the serum, so as to diagnose ulcerative colitis. Our kits are simple to operate and perform well in terms of sensitivity, accuracy and specificity.

Creative Biogene focuses on the research and development of ulcerative colitis diagnostic products. After years of unremitting efforts, we have become experts in the diagnostic field. We are committed to providing customers with the best products to help you quickly solve the problems in your research. We look forward to working with you for your cooperation.
