Hepatitis B

Hepatitis BChronic hepatitis B, referred to as hepatitis B, is a chronic disease in which hepatitis B virus (HBV) is continuously infected for more than 6 months, and the liver develops various degrees of inflammatory necrosis and/or liver fibrosis. The clinical manifestations of the disease include fatigue, nausea, abdominal distension, liver pain and other symptoms. Some conditions may be accompanied by chronic liver disease, spider nevus, liver palms, splenomegaly, and persistently abnormal liver function, which can be divided into mild, moderate and severe. This is a type of infectious disease, hepatitis B patients and HBV carriers are the main infectious source, but the infectivity has a lot to do with the disease state. HBV carriers are those who have tested positive for hepatitis B virus, without chronic hepatitis symptom, have been followed up many times, serum ALT and AST all do not have abnormal, and the liver histology is normal.

Diagnosis of Hepatitis B

There are several ways to diagnose hepatitis B:

  • Blood routine and urine routine. When liver function is abnormal, or cirrhosis develops, the level of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets will decrease. Routine urine examination is helpful in the differential diagnosis of jaundice.
  • Etiological examination. The hepatitis B virus antigen and antibody in the patient's serum can be detected to diagnose the disease. The antigen and antibody include HBsAg, HBsAb, HBcAg, HBcAb, HBeAg and HBeAb. HBsAg positive is the main sign of hepatitis B virus infection, and the appearance of HBsAb is a sign of the recovery of hepatitis B virus infection. Both HBcAbIgM and HBcAbIgG were positive, suggesting an acute onset of chronic hepatitis B. If HBeAg is positive, it indicates HBV replication, if HBeAb is positive, it indicates a previous infection with hepatitis B virus.
  • Pathological examination of the liver. This examination is of great value for confirming the diagnosis, measuring the degree of activity, fibrosis and evaluating the efficacy of hepatitis.
  • Imaging tests. Including abdominal ultrasound, CT and MRI, etc.
