Brain Tumor

Brain CancerThe brain is one of the most important organs of human beings. More than half of brain tumors are malignant. However, regardless of whether the brain tumors are benign or malignant, once they are compressed on any part of the brain, they will cause damage to different functions of the human body. Brain tumors can be divided into primary tumors originating from the neuroepithelial meninges, germ cells, peripheral nerves, etc., as well as secondary tumors metastasized from other systems. Brain tumors are characterized by increased intracranial pressure and various neurological symptoms, and ionizing radiation is a relatively clear risk factor for brain tumors.

Diagnosis of Brain Tumor

The following is the diagnosis method of brain tumor:

Physical examination. In addition to general examinations, a comprehensive neurological examination is performed.

CT and MRI. Most intracranial tumors can be qualitatively diagnosed by CT and MRI. MRI scan and enhanced examination are the first choices for the diagnosis of brain tumors. However, CT may have false-negative results, causing missed diagnosis, so pay special attention.

PET-CT. It is used to find tumors and judge their malignant degree, judge primary, metastatic or recurring tumor, and also judge brain function.

Pathological biopsy. If the qualitative diagnosis of brain tumors is difficult, directional neuronavigation technology can be used to take biopsy samples and confirm the diagnosis through cytology.
