Salmonella Infection

Salmonella InfectionSalmonella belongs to the Enterobacteriaceae family. It has a wide range of hosts in nature. A small number of Salmonella are selective for the host, and most of them are adapted to humans and animals and reside in the gastrointestinal tract. The clinical manifestations of Salmonella infection are diverse. According to their main syndromes, they can be divided into four types: enteritis, typhoid fever, sepsis and local purulent infection, collectively known as Salmonella infection (i.e., salmonellosis). The disease can be affected at any age, but the infants, the elderly, those with chronic wasting diseases, and those who have recently taken antibacterial drugs are more susceptible. Since salmonellosis is transmitted through the fecal-oral route, ingestion of food or beverages contaminated with Salmonella is the only way of infection.

Diagnosis of Salmonella Infection

There are several ways to detect Salmonella infection:

  • Blood routine. The total number of white blood cells is mostly normal, which is significantly increased when there are focal purulent lesions, and the neutrophils are on the high side.
  • Fecal examination. There are mucus and blood in some of the stool. Microscopic examination shows increased neutrophils, this phenomenon is more common in infants.
  • Bacteriological examination. Pathogenic bacteria are isolated from suspicious food, vomit and feces. If they are the same pathogen, it is of diagnostic significance. In extragastrointestinal infections, pathogens can be detected from blood, bone marrow, pus and other body fluids. Because the bacteria enter the blood intermittently, repeated culture can increase the positive rate.
  • Serum agglutination test. Use the patient's serum and bacterial antigens made from known strains for agglutination test. If the antibody titer increases by more than 4 times during the course of the disease, the diagnosis can be considered.

Advantages of Our Products

Creative Biogene's salmonella infection diagnostic products mainly use two methods: ELISA and PCR technology. The core diagnostic component of our ELISA test kit is validated antibodies pairs Mouse anti-salmonella monoclonal antibodies, which can be used as capture antibodies and detection antibodies. And the antigen is confirmed as a positive control material. Compared with other classic methods, qPCR detection methods for all pathogenic Salmonella have the advantages of fast speed, high sensitivity, and clear results. It is a method that can quantitatively detect pathogens.

Creative Biogene's skilled scientists have extensive experience in developing diagnostic products for Salmonella infection. It is sincerely looking forward to cooperating with you and providing you the best quality product with all of our hearts! You can choose us without hesitation.
