TAX1BP3 has a simple structure and is the only functional and structural unit identified in the small PDZ protein (human and mouse have a total of 124 amino acids) so far. A high level of TIP-1 expression was detected in human invasive breast cancer cells, which is of great significance for tumor cell adhesion, migration and lung metastasis. However, the exact biological effects of TIP-1 and its functional mechanism remain largely unclear. TAX1BP3 mutation can lead to dilated cardiomyopathy with optic nerve dysplasia.
