TAX1BP1, also known as T6BP and TXBP151, inhibit tnf-induced apoptosis by mediating the anti-apoptotic activity of TNFAIP3. In tnf-induced apoptosis, caspase-3 like family proteins are degraded. TAX1BP1 may also play a role in the pro-inflammatory cytokine IL-1 signaling cascade. TAX1BP1 binds to TRAF6 but not to TRAFs 1-5. There are 4 subtypes of TAX1BP1, with a molecular weight of 65-68 kDa and 86-91 kDa.
