T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia protein 1 (TAL1) is also known as stem cell protein, T cell leukemia/lymphoma protein 5. It is specifically expressed in leukemia stem cells and is related to the occurrence of hematopoietic malignancies. It may play an important role in hematopoietic differentiation and is a positive regulator of red blood cell differentiation. The 38kd and 44kd bands recognized by the antibody are the phosphorylated form of TAL1 and its subtypes.
