Based on the principle that the solubility (HbS) is lower than that of normal hemoglobin (HbA), Haemoglobin-SSICKLE-CHECK provides a fast and economical method for detecting the presence of reduced sickle hemoglobin (HbS). When a positive screening test is observed, a centrifugal test must be performed to distinguish between heterozygous (HbAS) and homozygous (HbSS) sickle conditions.
