S100A8 polyclonal antibody

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the S100 protein family containing two EF-hand calcium binding motifs. S100 protein is located in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of various cells, and participates in the regulation of cell cycle progression and differentiation and other cellular processes. The S100 gene includes at least 13 members, which are located on chromosome 1q21. This protein may inhibit casein kinase and function as a cytokine. Changes in the protein expression are related to cystic fibrosis.
