RBM6 is a 1123 amino acid protein that may interact with FAM168B. RBM6 is widely expressed in adult tissues. RBM6 specifically binds poly(G) RNA homopolymer in vitro. RBM6 has MV 129 kDa, 69 kDa and 59 kDa allotypes. In contrast, fetal thymus and adult kidneys have very little RBM6 expression. In the mouse hematopoietic system, the expression of RBM6 is down-regulated when the progenitor cells differentiate into granulocytes, but it continues during the development of macrophages.
