Application: | Interleukin-2 (IL2) is a protein initially identified as a T cell growth factor. IL2 is mainly produced by activated CD4+CD25- (helper) T cells, and induces the proliferation of these and others cells like CD8+ T cells, B and NK cells. For this reason, it has been used to treat immune-deficiencies like HIV, and induce immune response against tumors. Nevertheless, it has been shown that IL2 also acts as the main growth factor of CD4+CD25+ Regulatory T cells. Interleukin 2 mediates its functions in the target cell through the interleukin 2 receptor (IL2R). IL2R is a multimeric functional protein consisting of three different chains: Il2Rα, Il2Rβ and γc. |
This test kit is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The Rat MCP-1/CCL2 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous rat MCP-1/CCL2. The assay recognizes rat MCP-1/CCL2. An antibody specific for rat MCP-1/CCL2 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The rat MCP-1/CCL2 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another antibody of biotinylated specific for rat MCP-1/CCL2 is added to detect the captured rat MCP-1/CCL2 protein. For signal development, Streptavidin-HRP is added, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.
