The ras-related protein RAB38 is a protein encoded by the human RAB38 gene. According to the human genome sequence data, the proximal end of RAB38 on chromosome 11 is located at 11q14-q21, the proximal is located at 11q14.2-q22.3, and MYO7A is located at 11q13.5. The expression of RAB38 gene in melanocytes may be regulated by MITF. It may be related to the transport and docking of melanosomes, involving the correct ordering of TYRP1.
