This protein is an accessory protein of DNA polymerase delta, which participates in the control of eukaryotic DNA replication by increasing the processability of the polymerase during the leader strand extension process. It has obvious stimulating effect on 3'-5' exonuclease and 3'-phosphodiesterase, but has no obvious stimulating effect on the activity of apurinic-apyrimidinic (AP) endonuclease APEX2. Must be loaded onto DNA to stimulate APEX2.
