PBXIP1 (pre-b cell leukemia transcription factor interacting protein 1) is a regulator of the function of pre-b cell leukemia transcription factors (BPXs). It interacts with PBX1 and PBX2 and PBX3. PBXIP1 inhibits the ability of PBX-HOX heterodimer to bind to the target sequence, and strongly inhibits the transactivation activity of E2A-PBX. PBXIP1 has also been reported as a microtubule-binding protein that regulates the function of estrogen receptors and plays a role in the occurrence and development of cancer.
