Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) is a protein post-translational modification mediated by one of 17 poly(ADP-ribose) polymerases (PARP). PARP-9 belongs to the sub-family of macroPARPs, which associates one to three macro domains with the PARP domain. In vitro, PARP-9 overexpression stimulates cell migration, suggesting that PARP-9 promotes the migration and spread of malignant B cells in high-risk DLBCL. PARP-9 may also be a transcriptional co-activator. It is overexpressed in B lymphocytes and stimulated by IFN h-1 to induce the transcription of IFNγ-1 regulatory genes.
