This gene may play a role in the subcellular transport between the endoplasmic reticulum and the Golgi apparatus through the interaction with rhotype GTPases. Binding to the NS3 protein of Dengue 2 virus appears to disrupt this activity, causing it to change the intracellular membrane structure associated with flavivirus replication.
