MxA protein plays an important role in the antiviral activity of cells against multiple viruses (including influenza, parainfluenza, measles, Coxsackie, hepatitis B and Thogoto virus). In clinical diagnosis, the basic concentration of MxA protein is very low and its half-life is very long, so it may have more advantages than other inducing proteins and can be used as a marker of viral infection.
