MUC5AC polyclonal antibody

Mucin-5AC is a protein encoded by the human MUC5AC gene. This gene is associated with excessive secretion of mucus in the lung bundles and is associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The glycoproteins of the respiratory epithelium of the stomach and respirators form a gel that binds to the inhaled microorganisms and particles to protect the mucous membrane from infection and chemical damage. These microorganisms and particles are then cleared by the mucous sac system. It is highly expressed in mucosal cells on the surface of the respiratory tract, gastric epithelium and many cancers.
