Application: | Fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) is a peptide hormone that is expressed across several tissues, predominantly in liver and adipocyte tissues, and, to a lower extent, in the pancreas, skeletal muscle, heart, kidneys and testes. FGF21 plays a role in regulating adaptation to various metabolic abnormalities. In the liver, FGF21 plays an important role in the regulation of fatty acid oxidation both in the fasted state and in mice consuming a high-fat, low-carbohydrate ketogenic diet. FGF21 also regulates fatty acid metabolism in mice consuming a diet that promotes hepatic lipotoxicity. |
This test kit is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The Mouse/Rat PDGF-AB ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous mouse/rat PDGF-AB. The assay recognizes mouse/rat PDGF-AB. An antibody specific for mouse/rat PDGF-AB has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The mouse/rat PDGF-AB protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another antibody of biotinylated specific for mouse/rat PDGF-AB is added to detect the captured mouse/rat PDGF-AB protein. For signal development, Streptavidin-HRP is added, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.
