Mediator RNA polymerase II transcription subunit 19 (MED19) is a component of the mediator complex. The mediator complex is recruited into the promoter through direct interaction with regulatory proteins and serves as a scaffold for the assembly of functional pre-initial complexes with RNA polymerase II and general transcription factors. MED19 may be a new type of proliferation regulator that promotes the progression and cell growth of lung and gastric cancer.
