The kit is based on real-time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) technology, used for in vitro qualitative and simultaneous detection of 3 genes (ORF1ab, N and E) upper respiratory tract specimens (nasopharynx and oropharyngeal extracts) and lower SARS-CoV-2 RNA in respiratory specimens (bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) and deep cough sputum). It is considered as an aid to the diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection.
