LDOC1 contains a leucine zipper-like motif and a proline-rich region, which is significantly similar to the sh3 binding region. LDOC1 is localized in the nucleus and is down-regulated in some cancer cell lines. LDOC1 regulates nuclear factor B (NF-kappa B)-mediated transcriptional responses. The gene encoding LDOC1 protein is considered to be a tumor suppressor gene and may play an important role in the occurrence and/or progression of some cancers.
