Entrogen’s KRAS/BRAF mutation panel is a polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based detection method that uses allele-specific probes to identify mutations in KRAS exons 2, 3 and 4 and BRAF V600E. The test procedure consists of four simple steps:
1. Isolate DNA from tumor biopsies, paraffin-embedded sections (FFPE), fresh frozen tumors or tumor cell lines.
2. Use allele-specific probes to amplify the KRAS and BRAF gene regions.
3. Use a real-time PCR machine or a gel recording system to detect the amplified signal.
4. Record and interpret the results.
