IL-8 is a non-glycosylated protein, which is processed from a precursor protein containing 99 amino acids. IL-8 is present in the synovial fluid of patients with rheumatoid arthritis and has been purified from psoriasis plaque scales. It is related to sepsis, asthma and glomerulonephritis.
