IFNAR1 (Interferon and Receptor Subunit 1) is a protein coding gene. IFNAR1-related diseases include septic plague and hepatitis C, and the related pathways include type I interferon signaling pathway and immune response IFN alpha/beta signaling pathway. GO annotations related to this gene include interferon receptor activity and type I interferon receptor activity. The protein encoded by this gene is a type I membrane protein, which forms one of the two chains of interferon and interferon receptor. The binding and activation of this receptor stimulates Janus protein kinase, which in turn phosphorylates multiple proteins including STAT1 and STAT2. This encoded protein also has the effect of antiviral factors.
