IFIH1 is a recognized RNA helicase, which is up-regulated after IFNB or IFNB and MEZ treatment. The ectopic expression of MDA5 in melanoma cells resulted in a decrease in cell colony formation, indicating that there is an interaction between CARD and apoptosis signaling molecules. Functional analysis showed that MDA5 is an RNA-dependent atp enzyme.
