Application: Tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI) is a critical anticoagulant protein present in endothelium and platelets. TFPI is produced as two major isoforms in humans, TFPIa and TFPIb that result from alternative splicing. The TFPIb isoform localizes to the endothelium surface where it is a potent inhibitor of tissue factor-factor VIIa complexes that initiate blood coagulation. The TFPIa isoform is present in platelets. TFPI is a Kunitz-type serine protease inhibitor that exerts anticoagulant activity by blocking early procoagulant stimulia. TFPI can enhance anti-thrombotic treatment in sepsis, inflammatory diseases, and cardiovascular diseases.

This test kit is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The TIMP2 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous TIMP2. The assay recognizes human TIMP2. An antibody specific for TIMP2 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The TIMP2 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another antibody of biotinylated specific for human TIMP2 is added to detect the captured human TIMP2 protein. For signal development, Streptavidin-HRP is added, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.
