Application: | Pepsinogen I belongs to the peptidase A1 family. The gene endoces a 388 amino acid protein with a 15 amino acid signal peptide and 46 amino acid propeptide. Pepsinogen I is secreted only by the chief cells of the corpus, and its serum level decreases with increasing grade of the corpus atrophy (loss of oxyntic glands). Low serum levels of pepsinogen I are indicative of chronic atrophy, a risk factor for gastric cancer. |
This test kit is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The PRL ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous PRL. The assay recognizes human PRL. An antibody specific for PRL has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The PRL protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another antibody of biotinylated specific for PRL is added to detect the captured PRL protein. For signal development, Streptavidin-HRP is added, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.
