Application: | The galectins are a family of beta-galactoside-binding proteins implicated in modulating cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions. Galectin-3-binding protein (LGALS3BP, also known as 90K or Mac-2 BP) is a secreted glycoprotein which binds galectin-3, galectin-1, beta1 integrins, collagens and fibronectin. It has been implicated in tumor metastatic processes, as well as in other cell adhesion and immune functions. Levels of LGALS3BP have been found elevated in the serum of patients with cancer and in those infected by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Western analysis suggests that LGALS3BP is found in breast milk, semen, saliva, urine, and tears, in addition to serum. |
This test kit is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The Mammaglobin A ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous Mammaglobin A. The assay recognizes human Mammaglobin A. An antibody specific for Mammaglobin A has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The Mammaglobin A protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another antibody specific for Mammaglobin A is added to detect the captured Mammaglobin A protein. For signal development, horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody is added, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.
