This gene encodes a protein that may play a role in the signal transduction pathway, and its expression is elevated in germinal cell lymphoma. It contains a putative pdz interaction domain, a tyrosine-based immunoreceptor activation motif (ITAM) and two putative SH2 binding sites. In B cells, its expression is specifically induced by interleukin-4. Alternative splicing leads to variations in multiple transcripts encoding different subtypes.
