Fibrinogen-like 1 is a member of the fibrinogen family. The protein is homologous to the carboxy terminus of fibrinogen β subunit and γ subunit, and contains four conserved cysteines of fibrinogen and fibrinogen-related proteins. However, this protein lacks platelet binding sites, cross-linking regions, and thrombin sensitive sites necessary for fibrin clot formation. This protein may play a role in the development of hepatocellular carcinoma. There are four alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene, which encode the same protein.
