CML28 is a component of human exosomes, which is a multi-protein complex involved in RNA 3'processing and degradation. CML28 is a new 28 kDa TAA identified by serological analysis and screening of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) cDNA expression library. As a potential target for tumor-specific immunotherapy, CML28 is superior to other known TAAs, which is characterized by a broader expression spectrum in tumor cells and a stricter expression in normal tissues.
