HPC2 is a potential prostate cancer susceptibility gene, which plays a role in the genetic susceptibility of prostate cancer. It is a zinc phosphodiesterase that shows some tRNA 3'processing endonuclease activity and may be involved in tRNA maturation by removing the 3'-trailer from the tRNA precursor. ELAC2 deficiency may be a cause of prostate cancer susceptibility (PC).
