CXCR2 is also known as melanoma growth stimulating activity gamma. CXCR2 ligand has chemotactic activity on neutrophils. It may be involved in the inflammatory response and act on endothelial cells in an autocrine manner. In vitro, processed grol-gamma(5-73) showed 5-fold higher chemotactic activity for neutrophils.
