CXCL12/SDF-1 polyclonal antibody

In adulthood, CXCL12 recruits endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) from the bone marrow through a CXCR4-dependent mechanism and plays an important role in angiogenesis. It is this function of CXCL12 that makes it a very important factor in tumorigenesis and neovascularization associated with tumor progression. CXCL12 also plays a role in tumor metastasis. Cancer cells expressing the receptor CXCR4 are attracted to the metastatic target tissue that releases the ligand CXCL12. However, in breast cancer, the increased expression of CXCL12 determines the risk of distant metastasis. This antibody can detect all subtypes of CXCL12/SDF1.
