C14orf169 also be called URLC2 (up regulated in lung cancer 2). Oxygenase can act as both histone lysine demethylase and ribosomal histidine hydroxylase oxygenase. The hydroxylation of the UPPER 60S ribosomal protein L8 of His-216 was also catalyzed. Demethylation of H3K4me and H3K36me inhibits SP7 / OSX-mediated promoter activation by interacting with SP7 / OSX to act as a regulator of osteoblastic differentiation (similarity). It may also play a role in the biogenesis of ribosomes and in the replication or remodeling of certain heterochromatic regions. Participates in MYC-induced transcriptional activation.
