BAR protein is characterized by a common N-terminal rod-shaped domain, which is a family of adaptor proteins involved in a series of different cellular processes. BIN1 and BIN2 are BAR proteins. The human BIN2 gene is located on chromosome 4q22.1. The protein encoded by it is 565 amino acids with a predicted molecular weight of approximately 62 kDa. It is preferentially expressed in hematopoietic tissues. The level of mRNA in the spleen and peripheral blood leukocytes is the highest, and the level of mRNA in the thymus, colon and placenta is also high. BIN2 has been proven to have an apparent migration ability of ~80 kDa and interact with BIN1.
